Thai Lettuce Wrap

Hmmm. This is a low carb recipe. It's good for those days you want something lean and healthy. Ingredients: 1 lb Ground turkey (dark meat, preferred) 1 scallion finely chopped 1 T garlic, minced 1T ginger grated or finely chopped 1/4 c red bell pepper 2 spring onions, sliced 1/2 c shredded cabbage (or tri color pre-shredded coleslaw in a bag) 1T soy sauce 1T fish sauce or patis 1T teriyaki sauce or oyster sauce 1c bean sprouts, optional 1 head iceburg lettuce (to wrap with), washed and cored olive oil Thai chili sauce for dressing, optional 1 egg, optional Directions: Brown in olive oil: scallions and ginger. Then add garlic and red bell pepper. Add ground turkey and brown. Add cabbage and spring onions. Season with soy sauce, fish sauce and teriyaki or oyster sauce. Push meat to the side, break one egg and scramble it. Then mix with the meat. Add cabbage and bean sprouts. When tender turn off heat. So we usually bring a side dish or dessert, which leaves us nothing to eat at home but leftovers from the party the night before. This year, I feel more energetic so I thought I'd cook my own at home and bring dessert at my in-laws. here's two interesting thanksgiving ideas that i used for this year's thanksgiving...
